JavaScript Minifier

Make JavaScript files smaller with Terser, the minifier used by most modern build tools.

  • Free, no sign-up
  • Code stays in your browser
  • Works on phone and desktop

This tool runs Terser in your browser to compress and mangle JavaScript, supporting modern syntax, and reports syntax errors with line and column.

How to minify JS

  1. Paste your JS or open a file.
  2. Press Minify.
  3. Copy the result or download it.

Compress vs mangle

Compress rewrites code into shorter equivalent forms (removing dead code, joining declarations). Mangle renames local variables to single letters. Both are safe for standard code; turn mangle off if your code relies on function names at runtime.

Frequently asked questions

Why does the first run take a moment?

The Terser engine (about 1 MB) loads the first time you press Minify.
