Mozilla’s pdf.js renders each PDF page in your browser at the resolution you choose (72 to 300 DPI) and saves it as JPG, PNG or WebP. Several pages download together as a ZIP.

How to convert PDF to JPG

  1. Choose the PDF file. Thumbnails of the first pages appear.
  2. Choose format and resolution, and optionally type pages such as 1-3, 5.
  3. Press Convert to images to download.

Choosing a resolution

150 DPI is sharp on screens and keeps files small. Use 300 DPI for printing or when you need to zoom into small text. A4 at 150 DPI is about 1240 × 1754 pixels; at 300 DPI it is 2480 × 3508.

Uses

  • Posting a page of a PDF on social media or WhatsApp.
  • Inserting a page into a slide or Word document as a picture.
  • Running OCR on a scanned PDF with Image to Text.

Frequently asked questions

Can I convert just one page?

Yes. Type the page number in Pages, for example 3.

Are the images high quality?

Choose 300 DPI and PNG for the highest quality.

Are my PDF files safe?

Yes. The PDF is read and written by JavaScript libraries (pdf-lib and Mozilla pdf.js) inside your browser. The file is never uploaded, so confidential contracts, bank statements and ID scans stay on your device.
