Strings are generated with the browser’s cryptographically secure random number generator using unbiased sampling, so they are suitable for tokens, coupon codes, test data and temporary passwords.
How to generate random strings
- Choose the length, how many and which characters to use.
- Press Generate.
- Copy the list.
How random is it?
With 62 characters (A–Z, a–z, 0–9), each character adds about 5.95 bits of entropy; a 22-character string has over 128 bits, the strength of a modern encryption key. For passwords you will type, use the password generator.
