Trim empty PDF margins without uploading a document
Crop PDF changes the visible page box of selected pages. It is useful for scans with broad white borders, lecture notes, receipts and documents that should fill more of the screen. Text and vector graphics remain in the PDF; this tool does not turn pages into screenshots.
How to crop a PDF
- Choose a PDF and enter the page numbers to edit, such as 1, 3-5. Leave the range blank to apply the change to every page.
- Set how much to trim from each edge. You can use millimetres, points or inches.
- Update the preview. The shaded area shows what will be hidden on the first selected page.
- Select Crop PDF, download the copy, and check each changed page.
Does cropping delete hidden content?
No. Cropping adjusts the PDF CropBox. Content outside that box may still be recoverable with a PDF editor. Do not use cropping to redact private information. Digital signatures can also become invalid after editing; retain the original signed document.
Page sizes and rotation
Margins apply to the displayed orientation, including pages rotated by 90, 180 or 270 degrees. For a mixed-size document, the tool checks every selected page and rejects margins that leave less than one point of visible width or height. Unselected pages are left as they are.
Limits and privacy
Processing stays in this browser. The file limit is 50 MB and the page limit is 500; complex PDFs may still exceed a device’s memory. Password-protected or damaged PDFs are rejected. Previewing shows the first selected page, so inspect the full downloaded file before relying on it.
