Choose Add to calculate tax on a net price, or Remove to extract the tax already included in a gross total. Quick buttons fill common rates such as 18% GST in Pakistan, Indian GST slabs, UAE and Saudi VAT, and UK VAT.
How to calculate GST or VAT
- Choose Add tax or Remove tax.
- Enter the amount and the tax rate (or tap a quick rate).
- Read the net, tax and gross amounts.
Removing tax correctly
To find the price before tax, divide by (1 + rate), do not subtract the percentage. For 1,180 including 18% GST: 1,180 ÷ 1.18 = 1,000 net, so the tax is 180. Subtracting 18% of 1,180 would wrongly give 967.60.
Rates change
Tax rates differ by product, province and year. The quick buttons are common standard rates; always check the rate that applies to your goods or services.
