The Event Budget Planner is a free, private budgeting tool for any event — weddings, birthdays, corporate functions or dawats. Set a total budget, log every expense by category in PKR or INR, watch the running total and per-category breakdown update live, save everything in your browser, then print or export a clean summary.
How do I use the event budget planner?
- Set up: type your event name, choose PKR or INR, and optionally enter your total budget so the planner can show how much is left.
- Add expenses: pick a category, name the item and enter the amount. Every entry appears in the expense table instantly.
- Watch the summary: the running total, remaining budget and per-category breakdown update with every change — amounts are editable right in the table.
- Save and share: everything saves in your browser automatically. Export a CSV for a spreadsheet, or print a clean summary to discuss with family.
Which events is the budget planner good for?
It suits any event where money needs tracking: multi-day weddings (mehndi, baraat and walima each get their own line items), birthdays and baby showers, corporate events and seminars, dawats and iftar parties, and community fundraisers. Families in Pakistan and India use it to compare vendor quotes side by side and to see which category is eating the budget before deposits are paid.
It also pairs well with the wedding countdown & budget calculator for a quick starting estimate, and with the guest list manager — your headcount decides the catering bill, the biggest line in most event budgets.
What are the limitations of this planner?
This is a tracking and planning tool, not accounting software. It does not convert between PKR and INR — the currency toggle only changes the label, so enter all amounts in one currency. It cannot fetch vendor prices or check quotes for you, and it stores data only in the current browser: switching devices or clearing site data wipes the budget unless you exported it first. Keep vendor receipts separately, and export or print before clearing your browser.
Frequently asked questions
Is my budget data private?
Yes. Every expense is stored in your browser’s localStorage on your own device — nothing is uploaded to any server, no account is created, and the planner keeps working even if your internet drops once the page has loaded.
Does the planner convert between PKR and INR?
No. The currency toggle only changes the label and number formatting. Enter all amounts in the currency you choose; mixing currencies in one budget would make the total meaningless, so the tool deliberately does not apply exchange rates.
Can I plan more than one event at a time?
The planner keeps one active budget per browser. To start a second event, export the first budget as a CSV or print the summary, then press “Clear all” and begin fresh.
How do I share the budget with family members?
Print the summary or export the CSV and send it over WhatsApp or email. There is no cloud sync — the file or printout is the way to share a budget across devices.
What happens if I clear my browser data?
Clearing site data deletes the saved budget, because it lives in localStorage. Export a CSV or print a copy first whenever the budget matters.
Is the event budget planner really free?
Yes — free and unlimited with no sign-up, like every tool on this site.
