Build your checklist

The Event Checklist Generator builds a complete planning timeline for your event. Choose wedding, birthday, corporate event or baby shower, enter the event date, and the tool lays out every task in phases — from months out to the day itself — with checkboxes and a progress bar. Your ticks save in the browser automatically.

How do I use the checklist generator?

  1. Pick the event type — wedding, birthday, corporate event or baby shower — and enter the event date.
  2. Press “Generate checklist”. The tool lays out every task in phases, each with an “aim by” date counted back from your event.
  3. Tick tasks off as you complete them. The progress bar and the per-phase counts update live.
  4. Come back any time — your ticks are saved in this browser for that event type and date. Print the list for vendors or family who prefer paper.

Which event types are covered?

Four to start with. The wedding checklist is built for Pakistani and Indian shaadis — mehndi, dholki, baraat, nikkah and walima tasks alongside venue, catering and photography. The birthday and baby shower checklists cover home and hall parties, and the corporate checklist handles seminars, conferences and launches with speakers, registrations and AV. If your event is a dawat or dinner, the birthday template adapts well — the rhythm of venue, food, guests and decor is the same.

What are the limitations of this tool?

The checklists are expert starting points, not gospel — every event has quirks, so treat the phases as guidance and adjust. Due dates are counted back from the date you enter, so set the real date for sensible targets; if your event is weeks away, early phases will simply show as overdue. Progress is saved per event type and date in the current browser only, and there are no custom tasks yet — print the list and add your own by hand.

Frequently asked questions

Is my checklist progress saved?

Yes. Ticks are saved in your browser’s localStorage, keyed to the event type and date — reopen the page with the same type and date and your progress is back. Nothing is uploaded anywhere.

My event is next month — are the early phases useless?

No. Phases whose “aim by” date has passed are marked overdue so you know to do them now. The checklist still works as a complete to-do list; just work through it faster.

Can I add my own tasks to the checklist?

Not inside the tool yet — each event type has a fixed expert checklist. Print the list and add personal tasks by hand, or use the “Request a tool” button in the footer to ask for custom tasks.

Can I use it for a dawat, iftar party or other event?

Yes — pick the closest template. The birthday checklist suits dawats and dinner parties well, and the wedding checklist covers mehndi-only or walima-only functions if you skip what doesn’t apply.

Does the checklist work offline?

Yes. Once the page has loaded, everything — the checklists, the ticks and the saved progress — works without an internet connection.

Is the checklist generator free?

Yes — free and unlimited with no sign-up, like every tool on this site.
