How to blur part of an image
- Choose or drop the image.
- Drag the box over the area to hide and pick Blur or Pixelate.
- Press Apply to selected area, repeat for other areas, then download.
Blur or pixelate?
Pixelation is the safer choice for text such as card numbers, emails and addresses, because strong blocks cannot be read back. A heavy blur looks more natural on faces and backgrounds. For truly sensitive text, a solid block is the most secure; set strength to the maximum.

Screenshots often contain more than you think: tabs, notifications, email addresses. This tool runs entirely in your browser, so the unredacted original is never uploaded anywhere.
Frequently asked questions
Can blurred text be recovered?
Weak blur on large text can sometimes be guessed. Use pixelate at high strength for passwords, numbers and IDs.
Can I blur the whole image?
Yes. Drag the box to cover the whole picture, or use the blur slider in the Photo Editor.
