Simplifying square roots
Find the largest perfect square that divides the number: 50 = 25 × 2, so √50 = √25 × √2 = 5√2 ≈ 7.0711.
Frequently asked questions
Can I take the cube root of a negative number?
Yes. Odd roots of negative numbers are negative, for example ∛−27 = −3.
