Look up a domain’s MX records to see its mail servers sorted by priority, with automatic detection of Google Workspace, Microsoft 365 and Zoho Mail.
How to use the mx record lookup
- Enter the domain (the part after @ in the email address).
- Press Look up.
- Check that the MX hosts match your email provider’s instructions.
Troubleshooting email delivery
If email to your domain bounces, the MX records are the first thing to check. They must point to your current email provider; leftover records from an old host are a common cause of lost mail after a migration. Lower priority numbers are tried first.
Frequently asked questions
Can an MX record point to an IP address?
No. MX records must point to a hostname, which then has its own A record.
